Lawmakers File 600 New Immigration Bills

Lawmakers in 41 states have introduced more than 600 pieces of immigration-related legislation in the first two months of this year, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures .

Last year, 46 states enacted 240 new immigration-related measures – triple the number from the previous year, according to an NCSL tally . A Stateline.org analysis of NCSL’s survey shows the 240 measures include 190 new laws and 50 resolutions.

NCSL plans to release more details about this year’s activity later this month.
