Two Tools to Help Voters, Officials on Election Day

Voters headed to the polls today in New Jersey, Virginia, and New York City may get there faster using the Voting Information Project, or VIP, lookup tool to locate their polling places and ballot information. VIP is a partnership between The Pew Charitable Trusts and Google that makes election information available where people look for it most—online:

  • Are you voting in New Jersey? Find your polling place here.
  • Virginia residents find your info here.
  • Getting out to vote in New York City? Get there faster by looking here.

Pew is also working to improve the accuracy of U.S. voter rolls and the access to voter registration for eligible but unregistered citizens by supporting the Electronic Registration Information Center, or ERIC. This sophisticated data-matching program is managed by its seven participating states to maximize the efficiency and security of voter rolls. With 1 in 8 voter registrations in the United States no longer valid or accurate, this innovative program is critically important to our democratic process.
