The Evergreen State’s motto, “hope for the future,” is a fitting description for a state whose skyline features the Space Needle, and whose economy is based largely on software and aerospace engineering and manufacturing, and clean energy.  .  Washington’s elections are conducted entirely  by mail, making it easy for voters to register and vote.  Washington also has some of America’s highest peaks and vast stretches of old growth forests;  Pew is working to protect as wilderness 126,000 acres of ancient and mature forests on the Olympic Peninsula
