The Bay State, a center of Colonial history and home to some of the nation’s top universities, supports industries and services as diverse as technology, fishing, and health care.  While the recession left many states with significant revenue shortfalls in their annual budgets, Massachusetts has recovered better than many, with its tax revenue in the fourth quarter of 2013 higher than the state’s previous peak.
