The San Antonio Metropolitan Health District is undertaking an HIA to examine the health impacts of the Southern Edwards Plateau Habitat Conservation Plan. The plan is an effort by Bexar County and the City of San Antonio to create a program for local administration of certain aspects of the federal Endangered Species Act. It is is designed to protect and conserve natural resources in an area of San Antonio, Texas that is experiencings rapid development and growth. The HIA will examine issues such as air quality, park space and conservation of endangered species.
