Letter to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Regarding Amendment 17A to the Snapper Grouper Fishery Management Plan

On behalf of the Pew Environment Group's Ending Overfishing in the Southeast campaign, we are writing to urge the approval of Amendment 17A to the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council's (Council) Snapper Grouper Fishery Management Plan (FMP).  We join with coastal businesses, editorial boards, private anglers, charter and commercial fishermen, conservation
organizations representing hundreds of thousands of members from throughout the region, and over thirty thousand private citizens in supporting science-based annual catch limits and accountability measures to end overfishing and restore the region's depleted fish populations, including red snapper.
