Support Pre-K

We need tomorrow's workforce to be able to deal with the competitive global market. We need today's economy to be relieved of some of the burdensome costs of welfare, juvenile delinquency and remedial learning. Research shows that quality pre-kindergarten, especially for the disadvantaged, can achieve both.

Gov. Rendell and the legislature deserve gratitude for dedicating $75 million to Pennsylvania's early education program.

Pennsylvania has consistently ranked near the bottom of states in funding early education and in the quality of its programs. While there is more to be done, this investment will make the state's program among the best in the nation.
