GIH Bulletin Health Impact Assessments A Pathway to Health Equity

GRANTEE NEWS, GRANTEE COVERAGE, HEALTH IMPACT PROJECT COVERAGE

Minnesota-based ISAIAH conducted an HIA to inform legislation around integration and equity in educational opportunities within state-funded schools in Minnesota. "The legislation passed, and this increasingly popular and effective tool - the HIA - was credited for helping inform policy that will lead to better health for Minnesota students."

"HIAs are a strategic tool that contributes to greater health equity by having stakeholders and residents in low-income communities participate in critical decision making that can have a long-term impact on a community's health."
