PROFILE

Pepe Clarke leads Pew’s terrestrial conservation work in Australia, working with local and national partners to preserve public, private, and Indigenous lands and secure funding for conservation management activities by Indigenous peoples.

Before joining Pew, Clarke was the global head of policy for BirdLife International, the world’s largest nature conservation partnership, based in Cambridge, England. Before that, he chaired the Australian Committee for the International Union for Conservation of Nature and was CEO of the Nature Conservation Council of New South Wales.

Clarke holds a master of laws degree from the University of Sydney and a master’s in conservation leadership from the University of Cambridge.
