Jennifer Koskelin-Gibbons is a consultant and adviser to Pew who directs the Global Ocean Legacy campaign in Palau. In 2014, the president of Palau announced a plan to create one of the world’s largest fully protected areas of ocean in the nation’s waters.
The Global Ocean Legacy team is working to establish the world’s first generation of great marine parks by securing the designation of large, fully protected reserves. To date, its efforts have helped to double the amount of safeguarded ocean worldwide.
Koskelin-Gibbons has been executive director of the Palau Chamber of Commerce since 2011 and has more than a decade of strategic marketing and project management experience. She was the first Palauan to manage the arm of the Guam-based Ambros Group of Companies in her Pacific island nation. In that role, she led numerous marketing campaigns for internationally recognized consumer brands manufactured in the United States.
Koskelin-Gibbons has a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from Santa Clara University in California. She is fluent in English and Palauan.
