Pew Welcomes European Parliament's Call to Strengthen EU Shark Finning Ban

Uta Bellion, director of the Pew Environment Group's EU Marine Programme, issued the following statement to mark the European Parliament's adoption of the Written Declaration 71/2010 on shark finning.

“The Pew Environment Group is very satisfied with the European Parliament's call to completely end shark finning in EU waters and by its fleet globally. The Members of Parliament have sent a clear message to the Commission and to the Fisheries Council that they want all loopholes in the EU ban on finning closed.”
